- New metallic Nero Carbonio paint with additional clear coat layer
- Contrast accents in Rosso Ago on frame and wheels
- Price: 13,100 euros in Italy (approximately 14,540 US dollars)
The MV Agusta Brutale 800 had been available exclusively in the matte Rosso Ago Opaco livery since its 2026 model year. That is changing now: the Italian manufacturer from Varese is adding the new premium variant Nero Carbonio to the colour palette of its middleweight naked bike. This means the Brutale 800 is available at dealerships in two colour options for the first time this model year.

Nero Carbonio: Black Metallic Finish with Rosso Ago Accents
The new livery is based on a metallic black as the base tone. According to MV Agusta, the Nero Carbonio finish receives an additional clear coat layer that is intended to give the paint more depth and a higher-quality appearance. As a contrast to the dark base tone, accents in the brand’s traditional colour Rosso Ago are used. These are found specifically on the frame and wheels, creating a deliberate counterpoint to the otherwise dark overall appearance.
The key design features of the Brutale 800 remain untouched. The characteristic teardrop-shaped LED headlight, the single-sided swingarm and the iconic triple exhaust system with staggered outlets continue to be the style-defining elements. The steel trellis frame design that reveals the mechanical components, as well as the open styling beneath the seat, are also retained.
Brutale 800 Technology Remains Unchanged
The new colour variant changes nothing about the technical foundation. The powertrain continues to be the familiar 798 cc inline three-cylinder engine, homologated to Euro 5+. Power output stands at 113 hp (83.1 kW) at 11,000 rpm, with maximum torque of 85 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A counter-rotating crankshaft, which MV Agusta says is derived from MotoGP technology, serves to improve agility and handling during direction changes. Power is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox with electronic shift assistance (EAS) for clutchless up and downshifts.
For the chassis, MV Agusta uses a steel tubular trellis frame in combination with a fully adjustable 43 mm Marzocchi upside-down fork with 125 mm of travel at the front and an equally adjustable Sachs shock absorber with 130 mm of travel at the rear. Braking is handled by Brembo components: two floating 320 mm discs with radially mounted four-piston M4.32 callipers at the front and a 220 mm disc with a two-piston calliper at the rear. The Brutale 800 comes standard with Bridgestone S22 tyres in 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear sizes, mounted on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. The single-sided swingarm rounds off the chassis package.

Electronics and Connectivity
The electronic equipment of the Nero Carbonio matches the standard specification of the Brutale 800. A six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) forms the basis for the rider assistance systems. These include traction control with eight intervention levels, lean-sensitive ABS (Cornering ABS) and rear wheel lift mitigation. Four riding modes are available: Rain, Sport, Race and Custom. The latter allows individual adjustment of throttle response, power delivery and traction control.
Operation and monitoring are handled via a 5.5-inch TFT display that can be connected to the MV Ride app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Further standard equipment includes cruise control, a cornering light function on the LED headlight, an integrated anti-theft system with GPS tracking and an emergency SMS function. Launch control is also part of the feature set.
Price and Market Position
MV Agusta is asking 13,100 euros (approximately 14,540 US dollars) for the Brutale 800 in the Nero Carbonio livery on the Italian market. This places the new colour variant 500 euros above the previous Rosso Ago Opaco version, which starts at 12,600 euros (approximately 13,990 US dollars) in Italy. The surcharge is likely explained by the more elaborate paint process with the additional clear coat layer.
Like all current MV Agusta models, the Brutale 800 Nero Carbonio is manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Varese and comes with a five-year factory warranty.
The Brutale 800 is positioned within the MV Agusta model range as the entry point into the brand’s world. With the Nero Carbonio colour scheme, MV Agusta now offers an alternative for those who found the previous matte red too eye-catching. Whether and when the colour variant will also be available in other markets is not stated in the press release.
