- World premiere on 15 October 2026 at 5 pm
- Full fairing with winglets, clip-on handlebars and a single front brake disc
- Engine with 48 hp (35 kW) expected for the A2 class
After the F 450 GS adventure bike and the F 450 R naked bike, the sport version is next. On the evening of 8 October 2026, BMW Motorrad posted a dark, still mysterious image on its social media channels. The manufacturer wrote: “The fast lane is getting company. Thursday, 15 October, 5 pm. Any ideas yet?” BMW has not yet named the model. Following the logic of the range so far, however, the new model is likely to be called the F 450 RR. The BMW F 450 RR teaser would thus be the final step before the presentation of a complete A2 family consisting of an adventure bike, a naked bike and a sportbike.

What does the BMW F 450 RR teaser show?
The teaser shows a fully faired motorcycle with low clip-on handlebars and small aerodynamic wings at the front, known as winglets. This clearly identifies the model as a sporty RR version.
The winglets are reminiscent of the big S 1000 RR superbike. BMW took a similar approach with the F 450 R: the naked bike adopts visual features of the S 1000 R. Other details in the teaser, however, show that the new 450 is not a true supersport bike. There is only a single brake disc on the front wheel. A large silencer is also missing.
The wheels and the tail are also clearly visible. The tail has two separate, stepped seat pads. Both appear to come directly from the F 450 R, which BMW presented on 1 October 2026.
When will BMW present the F 450 RR?
BMW will unveil the new model on Thursday, 15 October 2026, at 5 pm. All technical data should also be revealed at the premiere.
The date comes earlier than long expected. After the first spy shots in February 2026, a presentation at the EICMA motorcycle show in November had been anticipated. At that time, a camouflaged, fully faired prototype was spotted testing in India. It was recognisable as a BMW by the lettered front brake calliper, the typical menu control wheel on the left clip-on and the rear lights integrated into the rear indicators. The test rider was not sitting in an extremely crouched position, but rather in a moderately sporty one.

Which engine will the BMW F 450 RR get?
The F 450 RR is likely to get the same water-cooled parallel twin as the F 450 GS and the F 450 R. The engine has a displacement of 420 cubic centimetres and produces exactly 48 hp (35 kW). That is precisely the limit of the European A2 licence class.
In the F 450 R, peak power is reached at 8,750 rpm. The maximum torque of 43 Nm (31.7 lb-ft) is delivered at 6,750 rpm. A special feature is the 135-degree crank pin offset. This refers to the angle at which the two pistons are offset on the crankshaft. It produces a distinctive sound familiar from the F 450 GS since 2026. Gears are shifted via a six-speed gearbox.
What is the Easy Ride Clutch?
The Easy Ride Clutch, or ERC for short, is an automatic clutch that is expected as an option on the F 450 RR. It comes from the Japanese supplier F.C.C. and is an advanced centrifugal clutch.
According to BMW’s information on the F 450 GS, the system engages automatically when pulling away. It only disengages again when the engine speed drops to idle level. Engine braking is retained. The clutch lever is still there, but does not have to be pulled. According to BMW, stalling the engine is not possible with the ERC.
Chassis and equipment from the F 450 R
In terms of chassis, the F 450 RR is likely to largely use the components of the F 450 R, possibly with slightly modified settings. These probably include the tubular steel frame, the aluminium swingarm with shock absorber and the upside-down fork.
On the F 450 R, the fork comes from KYB. It has a 43-millimetre inner tube diameter and 140 millimetres of travel. At the rear, the shock absorber also offers 140 millimetres of travel. Both wheels measure 17 inches. A 110/70-17 tyre is fitted at the front and a 150/60-17 at the rear. With the optional sport suspension, compression and rebound damping can also be adjusted on the fork.
A carry-over is also likely for the electronics. The F 450 R has a 6.5-inch TFT display, connectivity, heated grips as well as lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. Depending on the equipment, riding modes and a quickshifter are added. A quickshifter allows upshifts without using the clutch.

How heavy will the BMW F 450 RR be?
According to trade media estimates, the F 450 RR should stay below 180 kg (397 lbs). The full fairing adds a few kilograms compared with the naked bike, but no big jumps are expected.
Weight is particularly important in the A2 class. The rules allow a maximum of 35 kW and a ratio of no more than 0.2 kW per kilogram. An A2 motorcycle with the full 48 hp must therefore weigh at least 175 kg (386 lbs). The F 450 R reaches exactly this figure ready to ride with a full 14-litre tank. Magnesium covers for the clutch and gearbox are among the things that contribute to this. The F 450 GS weighs 178 kg (392 lbs) ready to ride.
How much will the BMW F 450 RR cost?
There is no official price yet. Trade media assume that the F 450 RR will not be available for less than 7,000 euros (approx. 7,830 US dollars).
The F 450 R serves as the lower limit. In Germany, it starts at 6,490 euros (approx. 7,260 US dollars) for the base version in Cosmic Black. The Exclusive variant adds a quickshifter and the sport suspension for a surcharge of 280 euros (approx. 313 US dollars). The F 450 R Sport in Snaefell White with M Motorsport livery costs 430 euros (approx. 481 US dollars) more and also features the Pro riding mode. With the automatic ERC clutch, the surcharge is 730 euros (approx. 817 US dollars). A similar price structure for the F 450 RR would be conceivable but has not yet been confirmed. The F 450 GS costs from 7,220 euros (approx. 8,080 US dollars) in Germany.

Will the BMW F 450 RR also come to Germany?
If BMW presents the F 450 RR on 15 October, it should be at dealers by spring 2027 at the latest, including in Germany. That cannot be taken for granted.
The previous small sport model, the G 310 RR with a single-cylinder engine and 34 hp (25 kW), was never available in Germany. Like the G 310 models before it, the new 450 family is built by BMW’s long-standing partner TVS in India. With the F 450 RR, BMW would have three A2 models on a shared platform in its line-up for the 2027 model year: an adventure bike, a naked bike and a sportbike.
