In April 2026, BRABUS and French manufacturer DAB Motors presented their first electric motorcycles at Milan Design Week. Half a year later, a third partner joins in: Fragment Design, the label of Hiroshi Fujiwara. Together, the three companies have developed the BRABUS URBAN E FRAGMENT EDITION. It celebrates its world premiere on October 3 and 4, 2026, at ComplexCon in Los Angeles. Following the DAB 1a BRABUS, the BRABUS URBAN E and the URBAN E FIRST EDITION, it is the fourth BRABUS electric motorcycle to be unveiled in 2026.

How did BRABUS and Hiroshi Fujiwara come to work together?
Hiroshi Fujiwara came across the BRABUS electric motorcycle by chance on the street during Milan Design Week in April 2026. He liked the design so much that it turned into a joint edition.
Shortly afterwards, Fujiwara shared the motorcycle on his Instagram channel. There he also showed a BRABUS URBAN E FIRST EDITION in Desert Sand, which he bought for himself. About the encounter in Milan, he says: “I just found its design beautiful. BRABUS takes something that already exists and pushes it in a completely different direction. I think Fragment works in a similar way.”
DAB Motors founder Simon Dabadie also describes the meeting in Milan as the starting point. Fujiwara was excited about the motorcycle, and so they began to imagine a motorcycle in the style of Fragment. BRABUS CEO Constantin Buschmann says he enjoys working with other designers. Fujiwara brings in ideas that BRABUS might never have come up with on its own, and the same is true the other way around.
Who is Hiroshi Fujiwara and what does Fragment Design stand for?
Hiroshi Fujiwara is considered one of the most influential figures in the Japanese streetwear scene. His label Fragment Design is based in Tokyo and is known for minimalist design with understated branding.
Fujiwara is often referred to as the “godfather” of Ura-Harajuku fashion. This style emerged in Tokyo’s Harajuku district, and Fujiwara played a major role in shaping it. With Fragment Design, he regularly collaborates with other brands, for example in fashion, footwear and product design. His well-known collaborations include versions of the Air Jordan 1 and down jackets from Moncler.
Fujiwara describes his approach like this: “I enjoy working with limitations. I believe that a very small change is just enough, it is actually a big difference.” According to him, a collaboration is a way to create something he wants for himself or would like to use. “I never design with what the market wants in the back of my mind,” says Fujiwara.

How does the FRAGMENT EDITION differ visually from the regular URBAN E?
As standard, the BRABUS URBAN E comes in gloss black with red accents and a red leather seat. The FRAGMENT EDITION, by contrast, relies on a consistent black-and-white concept with white details.
The basis is formed by black body panels and exposed carbon elements, meaning carbon with a visible fiber structure. As a contrast, the carbon wheel covers, the brake calipers and the rider’s seat are white. On top of that come alternating matte and gloss surfaces as well as Fragment’s typical lightning bolt logo.
The BRABUS Masterpiece rider’s seat is upholstered in white leather and features the “Shell” quilting typical of BRABUS, a pattern of shell-shaped stitching. Behind the seat sits a translucent monoblock LED taillight with the Fragment logo integrated into it. Simon Dabadie sums up the changes like this: “Every detail has been rethought, from the painted carbon components to the bespoke, crystal-clear taillight with the Fragment logo to the white BRABUS seat.”
The rest of the shape comes from the URBAN E. In side view, the monocoque-style tank and seat fairing defines the look. This refers to a continuous shell that visually connects the tank and seat area. Vertical daytime running lights sit in the side air intakes. The black front mask carries an illuminated BRABUS logo with a carbon surround and houses the charging port, with a projector headlight with lens working below it. Further carbon parts include the front fender, the frame cover ahead of the rear wheel, the belly pan below the drivetrain, the side motor covers and the rear winglets. A storage compartment in front of the seat holds the supplied charging cable.
What technology is in the BRABUS URBAN E FRAGMENT EDITION?
Technically, the FRAGMENT EDITION is based on the BRABUS URBAN E. According to BRABUS, the electric motor produces 37 hp (27 kW) and delivers a maximum torque of 475 Nm (around 350 lb-ft), while top speed is 120 km/h (75 mph).
The performance comes from a specially programmed controller and a dedicated inverter. The inverter converts the current from the battery for the motor and is designed to allow higher current flow under load. Two carbon air ducts on the left and right provide additional motor cooling so that performance remains constant even in heat and under continuous use. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a low-maintenance carbon belt.
The 72-volt lithium-ion battery is said to enable a range of up to 150 kilometers (93 miles). It is charged from a normal 220-volt household socket. According to the manufacturer, charging from 50 to 100 percent takes about 90 minutes, and from 20 to 100 percent around three hours. A full charge takes three and a half to four hours.
The bike is started keylessly via PIN code. A 2.8-inch LCD display shows speed, battery level, charging progress and system temperature.
Which riding modes does the FRAGMENT EDITION have?
There are five riding modes: Eco, Street, Sport, Nitrous and Reverse. In Eco mode, top speed is limited to 60 km/h (37 mph) and power delivery is gentler, which is meant to help in low-grip conditions and to save energy. Street is the default setting for the city, while Sport unlocks full power with a more direct response. Nitrous is a kind of boost function that provides maximum power for up to ten seconds. Reverse makes maneuvering in tight spaces easier.
Chassis and brakes
Up front, a 46 mm upside-down fork with adjustable damping and 100 mm of travel does the work. At the rear sits a CNC-machined, adjustable shock absorber, also with 100 mm of travel. The brakes come from Brembo: a four-piston radial caliper with a 320 mm disc at the front and a single-piston caliper with a 240 mm disc at the rear. A dual-channel ABS is fitted as standard.

How much does the BRABUS URBAN E FRAGMENT EDITION cost?
In Germany, the BRABUS URBAN E FRAGMENT EDITION costs 53,550 euros (approx. 61,740 US dollars) including 19 percent VAT. Excluding VAT, that equals 45,000 euros.
A comparison within the model family shows the premium for the Fragment design. The URBAN E FIRST EDITION, which is also technically identical to the URBAN E, costs 38,675 euros (approx. 44,590 US dollars). The FRAGMENT EDITION is therefore 14,875 euros (approx. 17,150 US dollars) more expensive. Compared with the regular BRABUS URBAN E at 27,251 euros (approx. 31,420 US dollars), it costs almost twice as much. Then there is the smaller production run: 40 units of the FIRST EDITION are being built in four colors, while only ten units of the FRAGMENT EDITION will exist worldwide.
At ComplexCon, the motorcycle is expected to be available in limited numbers for around 50,000 US dollars (approx. 43,370 euros).
Why is the electric motorcycle premiering at ComplexCon?
ComplexCon is an event centered on streetwear, sneakers, music, art and design, and Hiroshi Fujiwara is co-curating this year’s edition as artistic director. It celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026 and takes place on October 3 and 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Alongside Fujiwara, rapper Playboi Carti also serves as artistic director. More than 300 brands, artists and creatives are represented. A car tuner like BRABUS seems out of place in this environment at first. Constantin Buschmann, however, sees it as a deliberate step: “If you want to be relevant in today’s landscape of luxury brands, you have to very clearly recognize the cultural angle of your product and you have to engage with what’s going on outside in the design world.” In his own words, he considers it arrogant when brands ignore this area.
Buschmann sums up BRABUS’ ambition like this: “When you design luxury products like we do, you have to touch people’s hearts in the very same second they see them. Otherwise, we don’t stand a chance.” The company calls this approach its “One Second Wow” mission. Fujiwara, for his part, talks about how people of different ages and cultures come together at ComplexCon, including many who know neither Fragment nor BRABUS. He would be pleased if his design helps them discover something new there.

Capsule collection for the FRAGMENT EDITION
To match the motorcycle, BRABUS and Fragment Design have also created a limited clothing collection. It consists of leather gloves, a riding jacket and a fleece zip hoodie.
The partners have not yet announced prices for the individual pieces of the collection. The capsule collection will be presented together with the motorcycle at ComplexCon.
Who is behind BRABUS and DAB Motors?
BRABUS is a family-owned company from Bottrop in Germany’s Ruhr region, founded in 1977. The brand is best known for refined vehicles, but its range now also includes boats, motorcycles and design products.
The company was founded by Bodo Buschmann and Klaus Brackmann. Constantin Buschmann has been running BRABUS since 2018. In the motorcycle sector, BRABUS previously worked with KTM, first on the BRABUS 1300 R and most recently on the BRABUS 1400 R SIGNATURE EDITION based on the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
DAB Motors is a French manufacturer of electric motorcycles and belongs to Peugeot Motocycles Groupe. The company focuses on small series and customization. Every motorcycle is assembled in France. The technical basis of all BRABUS electric motorcycles is the DAB 1a platform.
