A good year after the X-47 Crossover launched in India in September 2025, the electric motorcycle maker from Bengaluru is following up with the next evolution. The Venom name stands for more than a facelift. Beneath the familiar skin lies a completely new technical basis on which, according to Ultraviolette, all of the brand’s future vehicles will be built. Bookings have been open since 22 October 2026, with deliveries starting in November. In a few days, Ultraviolette will show the Venom to a European audience for the first time at EICMA 2026 in Milan.

What does the new VX-100 platform bring to the Ultraviolette X-47 Venom?
The VX-100 platform runs at 100 volts and renews the three most important components: battery, motor and motor controller. All three are designed to be lighter, deliver more energy and cool down faster.
For the battery, Ultraviolette relies on its new SRB-11 technology. Energy density is said to rise by up to 20 percent, and cooling capacity to double. The revised thermal system is designed to dissipate heat up to 50 percent faster. The battery housing is made of cast aluminium and protected against dust and water to IP67.
The Venom is powered by the newly developed UV LightFury electric motor. It is a permanent magnet synchronous motor that uses so-called soft magnetic composites (SMC). This material is easier to shape than conventional laminated cores and in this case saves around 5 kg (11 lbs). The new motor controller is said to achieve three times the power density in a smaller package.
The most noticeable effect is on weight. The base version with the 7.5 kWh battery weighs 180 kg (397 lbs), 17 kg (37 lbs) less than the previous entry-level X-47. The Recon with 11 kWh comes in at 195 kg (430 lbs), 13 kg (29 lbs) less than the old Recon with 10.3 kWh.
The improved cooling should also show in everyday use. The most aggressive riding mode, Ballistic, can now be used down to a battery level of 10 percent; previously it was cut off at 30 percent. Regeneration, i.e. recovering energy when braking and coasting, now kicks in from a 99 percent state of charge instead of only from 90 percent.
How much power does the Ultraviolette X-47 Venom have?
The X-47 Venom produces 30 kW, equivalent to around 41 hp. Peak motor torque is 90 Nm (66 lb-ft), with 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) arriving at the rear wheel.
Wheel torque refers to the force that actually acts on the rear wheel after the gearing. Here the Venom falls short of the Crossover, which managed 610 Nm (450 lb-ft). It also loses 10 Nm of motor torque, while peak power has remained practically unchanged.
The Venom is quicker nonetheless. It needs 2.7 seconds from 0 to 60 km/h, as before. According to the manufacturer, it completes the sprint to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, whereas the Crossover was quoted at 8.1 seconds. Top speed rises from 145 to 155 km/h and is electronically limited. These figures apply to all four variants. The riding modes Glide, Combat and Ballistic are available.

What range does the X-47 Venom have and how long does charging take?
With the 11 kWh battery, Ultraviolette quotes a range of 343 km, with the 7.5 kWh battery 227 km. Both figures refer to the Indian IDC test cycle, which usually produces higher values than other procedures.
Compared with its predecessor, the larger version gains 20 km, the smaller one 16 km.
New is DC fast charging at up to 12 kW at external charging stations. Ultraviolette calls this a first for an Indian electric two-wheeler. The manufacturer has not yet said how long a fast-charging session takes.
For charging from a wall socket, there are concrete times, each from 20 to 80 percent:
- 7.5 kWh with the supplied 1.3 kW charger: 3 hours 45 minutes
- 7.5 kWh with the optional 3 kW booster: 1 hour 50 minutes
- 11 kWh with the 1.3 kW charger: 5 hours 30 minutes
- 11 kWh with the 3 kW booster: 2 hours 45 minutes
With the large battery, standard charging therefore takes half an hour longer than with the old Recon. Depending on the variant, an on-board charger is also fitted, rated at up to 1.6 kW according to the manufacturer.
Battery protection, radar and electronics: what the Venom has on board
For the battery, Ultraviolette combines a battery management system with fuses for individual cells and a so-called pyro fuse. This pyrotechnic fuse cuts the circuit within microseconds if a critical fault occurs.
The Venom has taken over the UV Hypersense radar system from the Crossover. A 77 GHz radar in the tail detects traffic up to 200 m away. This enables a blind spot warning, a lane change assistant, overtaking alerts and a rear collision warning. The latter switches on the hazard lights in case of danger to alert following vehicles.
The cockpit features a new 7-inch touchscreen with the UV Interface X user interface. It runs on Android, uses Qualcomm hardware and is also protected to IP67. Navigation comes from the Indian map service Mappls, and there is also a 35-watt USB-C port. The Violette AI assistance package reports movement, falls, towing and accidents, among other things, and can lock the motorcycle remotely.
To go with the Venom, Ultraviolette has presented the B-MAX protective vest. It is designed to protect the chest, back, sides, hips and collarbone area, absorb 86 percent of impact force and be reusable up to five times.

Which variants of the X-47 Venom are available?
Ultraviolette offers the X-47 Venom in four variants. The two models without Recon in their name use the 7.5 kWh battery, the two Recon versions the 11 kWh battery.
Even the base X-47 Venom comes with dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control, stability control, hill hold assist and three-level regeneration. The X-47 Venom+ adds cruise control, navigation, LTE connectivity and a tracking function. Traction control here has four levels, regeneration ten.
The X-47 Venom Recon takes over this equipment and adds the large battery, the radar assistants, an integrated front camera and crash protection with hand guards and bars. At the top sits the X-47 Venom Recon+. It has front and rear cameras, a reversing camera with parking assist, Violette AI and tyre pressure monitoring.
What stays the same compared with the X-47 Crossover?
Ultraviolette has not changed the chassis or dimensions. Seat height (820 mm), ground clearance (200 mm) and wheelbase (1,385 mm) match the previous X-47.
The frame is still a steel trellis frame. Up front is a 41 mm upside-down fork, at the rear a monoshock, both adjustable for preload. Braking is handled by a 320 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The 17-inch wheels carry 110/70 tyres at the front and 150/60 at the rear.

How much does the Ultraviolette X-47 Venom cost?
In India, the X-47 Venom starts at an introductory price of 2.65 lakh rupees (approx. 2,490 euros / 2,785 US dollars). This price applies to the first 5,000 customers, after which all variants go up by 35,000 rupees (approx. 330 euros / 370 US dollars).
