After the trend in adventure motorcycles was towards ever larger displacement and performance data, this trend is slowly returning and more and more ADV motorcycles with smaller displacement are coming onto the market. This could also make a Tenere 300 possible in the future.
Also other manufacturers went this way
KTM did it with the 790 and 390 models, Moto Guzzi with the V85 TT and Yamaha itself with the Tenere 700, so why not a Tenere 300?
This was the question asked by the colleagues from Motociclismo to Fabrizio Corsi, Yamaha’s Product Communications Manager, during a launch test of the MT-03. Corsi pointed out in his answer that the launch of the BMW G 310 GS and also the KTM 390 Adventure attracted a lot of attention. Yamaha would always be willing to listen to their customers if they had a wish for a particular model.
Yamaha does not rule it out
Of course this is not a confirmation that a corresponding model is in the planning stage, but you don’t rule out a 300cc ADV motorcycle in principle. If you take this idea further, a bike for Yamaha could make sense. The segment is growing in popularity and a Tenere 300 could be produced and sold at a competitive price.
