KTM Returns to EICMA 2026: Off-Road Focus After a Year of Crisis

KTM is back at Europe’s most important motorcycle show. On 28 September 2026, the Austrian manufacturer officially confirmed that it will be present at EICMA 2026 with its own stand. The show takes place from 3 to 8 November at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre in Milan. KTM itself speaks of a comeback and has put its return under the motto “Back on the Grid”. The company is not yet revealing which motorcycles will be shown. What is certain, however, is when and where the covers will come off.

When and where will KTM show its new models at EICMA 2026?

KTM will unveil its new models on 3 November 2026 at 10:45 a.m. (CET) at a press conference on its own stand. The stand is located in Hall 22 under number E08.

According to KTM, the press conference is the highlight of its entire trade show appearance. International media representatives are invited, and there will be further programme items specifically for the press on the same day. KTM intends to publish more detailed information on the schedule, the venue and accreditation in the coming weeks.

Important for visitors: 3 and 4 November are trade-only days. EICMA opens to the general public from 5 to 8 November, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day. Anyone wanting to see KTM’s new models in person can therefore do so two days after the unveiling at the earliest.

What has KTM announced for EICMA 2026?

KTM is announcing a first look at the future of its model range, with a clear focus on the off-road segment. The manufacturer is deliberately not naming any specific models.

According to the press release, KTM wants to present new developments in the off-road segment in Milan, as well as solutions for the next generation of its motorcycles. There will also be a preview of upcoming products and technologies. According to the company, everything else will remain under wraps until the official unveiling.

KTM thus joins the line-up of a show that has for years been regarded as the stage for the most important world premieres of the coming motorcycle season. From the big Japanese manufacturers to European premium brands and new players from China and India, almost all major brands use the opportunity to present their new models to the public there.

Why does KTM speak of a comeback?

KTM speaks of a comeback because the manufacturer was not present at EICMA 2025 at all. The return in 2026 therefore ends a one-year break from the show.

Yet EICMA 2025 was a record year for the organisers. More than 600,000 visitors and 730 exhibitors from 50 countries came to Milan for the 82nd edition. Since 2021, the number of visitors, the number of exhibitors and the occupied floor space have thus doubled. While other manufacturers presented their new models for 2026, KTM was completely absent from the exhibition halls.

Where does KTM stand after the restructuring?

KTM has a difficult year behind it: the insolvency of KTM AG at the end of 2024 was followed by a comprehensive restructuring, in the course of which Indian partner Bajaj took control. Since January 2026, the parent company has been called Bajaj Mobility AG.

In the restructuring proceedings, creditors agreed to recover only 30 per cent of the original debt of around 1.6 billion euros (approx. 1.84 billion US dollars). In return, Bajaj provided a financing package of around 800 million euros (approx. 920 million US dollars). Via a purchase option, the former minority shareholder then secured a majority stake in the former Pierer Mobility AG. The name change to Bajaj Mobility AG was entered in the commercial register on 13 January 2026, and the headquarters remain in Mattighofen.

The figures for 2025 show how deep the cut was. According to the company, revenue was just over one billion euros (approx. 1.15 billion US dollars), a decline of around 46 per cent. 209,704 motorcycles were sold, 28 per cent fewer than in the previous year. Sales picked up again in the second half of the year as production was ramped up. At the same time, KTM significantly reduced its inventory: from 248,580 motorcycles at the end of 2024 to 147,427 at the end of 2025.

A lot has also changed in terms of staff. The number of employees fell from 5,310 to 3,794. Around 500 positions, mainly in administration and middle management, were cut. KTM CEO Gottfried Neumeister described the step as “a difficult but necessary decision to lower our costs, slim down structures, and thereby place the company on a stable footing for the long term”. He also talks about reducing complexity in all areas, explicitly including the model range.

At the same time, the group has divested several business areas. The bicycle business was discontinued, MV Agusta and X-Bow were sold, and the distribution of CFMoto ended. Since 1 April 2026, Stephan Reiff, the new Chief Commercial Officer, has been responsible for sales, marketing and brand strategy, among other things. He joined from BMW Motorrad, where he had been in charge of global sales since 2022.

What is still open until the press conference?

Above all, the specific models that KTM will show in Milan are still open. So far, the manufacturer has only given the general direction: off-road, future products and new technologies.

Details of the media programme on 3 November are also still pending. KTM intends to announce them in the coming weeks. So far, only the framework is certain: Hall 22, Stand E08, unveiling at 10:45 a.m.
