Improved ergonomics for the CMX500 and CMX1100

The Honda CMX500 Rebel, which has been the best-selling custom motorcycle in Europe for several years, is receiving some updates for the coming model year that are intended to increase riding comfort and suitability for everyday use.  These include a newly adapted handlebar position, which enables a more upright riding position.  The seat cushion has also been redesigned and promises more comfort, while the seat height remains pleasantly low at 690 mm.  In addition, the shock absorbers have been optimized to better absorb bumps on poor roads.

A practical detail that sets the CMX500 apart is the ability to quickly and easily remove the pillion seat and passenger footrests if the machine is to be ridden solo.  Honda also offers a wide range of optional accessories, including luggage racks, saddlebags, a backrest and a lamp mask.  These parts are available both individually and in attractively priced packages.

Special edition of the CMX500 S

The CMX500 S edition will also remain in the range in 2025.  This special version is equipped ex works with an accessory package that includes bronze-colored rims, fork bellows, a fork cover and a high-quality rider’s seat in brown leather with quilted seams.

CMX1100 Rebel with new SE version

There are also interesting new features for the larger CMX1100 Rebel.  In addition to the standard version and the touring-oriented CMX1100T, the model range has been expanded to include the new CMX1100SE Rebel, which is equipped with special accessories ex works.  The highlights of this special edition include handlebar end mirrors, a lamp mask, fork bellows and a sporty shortened front mudguard.  This makes the CMX1100SE the first Honda since the exclusive RC213V-S to be fitted with these mirrors ex works.

Engine and technical equipment of the CMX1100

The CMX1100 remains a real highlight in the custom bike scene in 2025.  The 1,084 cc two-cylinder in-line engine has been revised to offer more torque at low and medium engine speeds.  The power is boosted by a new compression ratio, which gives the engine a characterful sound and improved response.

The driving behavior can be precisely controlled by the throttle-by-wire system with three preset driving modes (Standard, Rain and Sport) as well as two individually customizable user modes.  These modes influence the power output, engine braking and traction control, among other things.  For even more comfort, the CMX1100 Rebel offers an optional DCT dual-clutch transmission, which is intended to provide even smoother control at low speeds, such as when turning.

Improved comfort and connectivity

In addition to the revised handlebar and footrest position, which ensures a more comfortable riding position, the riding experience is enhanced by a thicker padded seat cushion.  The CMX1100 models also have a 5-inch TFT color display with Honda RoadSync connectivity, which provides the rider with modern functions.  A USB-C port enables devices to be charged while riding, and cruise control as standard rounds off the technical features.

New color options for 2025

In addition to the technical improvements, Honda is also introducing new color options for the CMX series.

The 2025 CMX500 is available in two colors:

  • Mat Dim Gray Metallic (new)
  • Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic

The CMX500 S-Edition is offered in the following paint finishes:

  • Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic
  • Candy Energy Orange (new)

The CMX1100 Rebel will be launched in 2025 in Pearl Hawkseye Blue (new), while the CMX1100T touring variant is available in Iridium Gray Metallic (new).

The new CMX1100SE Special Edition is available in two exclusive colors:

  • Flare Orange Metallic (new)
  • Mat Ballistic Black Metallic (new)

With these innovations and the introduction of the CMX1100SE, Honda is expanding the options for custom bike fans and providing even more individualization potential for its popular Rebel models.
