Suzuki KATANA Limited Edition: Only 45 Units of the Design Icon Available

The Suzuki KATANA is now available as a strictly limited special edition with Akrapovič exhaust and exclusive details. Only 45 units will be built worldwide.
  • Limited to 45 units worldwide with individual numbering
  • Akrapovič slip-on silencer fitted as standard
  • Price: 15,045 euros (approximately 17,450 USD) MSRP ex-works

The Suzuki KATANA is one of the few motorcycles that is still instantly recognizable decades after its first appearance. Since the 1980s, the name has stood for an uncompromising combination of angular design language and sporty engineering. Suzuki is now releasing the model as a strictly limited edition that features visual refinements and a technical upgrade in the form of an Akrapovič silencer. Only 45 units will be produced in total.

Exclusive Equipment for the Limited Series

The KATANA Limited Edition stands out from the standard model through a series of carefully selected design details. Each of the 45 units bears a high-quality sticker documenting the individual numbering in the format (xx/45). This allows the limited nature to be clearly verified by every owner.

In addition, a tank pad in carbon look, frame sliders for crash protection, and a black-finished rear fairing are included in the delivery. A decor kit in black and silver called “The Edge” further emphasizes the already striking design language of the model. Beyond pure aesthetics, Suzuki also includes a black carpet with KATANA logo and the book “KATANA History,” which traces the development history of the model over more than four and a half decades.

Akrapovič Silencer as the Technical Highlight

The most important upgrade over the standard model concerns the exhaust system. Suzuki equips the Limited Edition ex-works with a slip-on silencer from Akrapovič, specifically tuned for the KATANA, replacing the standard silencer. In all other areas—chassis, braking system, and drivetrain—the limited variant matches the current production specification.

152 HP Inline-Four with GSX-R Genes

The technical foundation of the KATANA is a 999 cc inline-four engine producing 152 HP (112 kW). The engine traces its basic architecture back to the legendary GSX-R1000 and has been specifically tuned for use in the KATANA. Its strengths are said to be particularly evident in the mid-range.

Combined with electronic throttle control via ride-by-wire, the rider has access to numerous assistance systems. Three riding modes, a five-stage and deactivatable traction control (STCS), and a bi-directional quick shifter are part of the standard equipment.

Chassis with KYB Suspension and Brembo Brakes

For the chassis, Suzuki relies on a torsionally rigid aluminum frame combined with high-quality KYB suspension elements. At the front, a fully adjustable 43-millimeter upside-down fork operates, while at the rear, a lightweight alloy swingarm guides the rear wheel, supported by a progressive linkage system against a central shock absorber.

The braking system features a dual disc brake from Brembo with radially mounted calipers at the front, designed to provide powerful and well-modulated deceleration.

LED Technology and Digital Cockpit

The KATANA features a fully LED lighting system. The cockpit consists of an LCD combined instrument flanked by LED indicators. This puts the equipment at a contemporary level.

Price and Availability

The Suzuki KATANA Limited Edition is available immediately from authorized Suzuki dealers. The price is 15,045 euros (approximately 17,450 USD) as the manufacturer’s suggested retail price ex-works, plus ancillary costs. Given the restriction to just 45 units, availability is likely to be limited quickly.
