- 30 units sold in 14 days
- Unit price 150,000 US dollars, in Europe 115,000 euros plus VAT
- 25 of the 30 units go to the US market
Aprilia Racing has officially confirmed the sales record of the latest edition of its exclusive X series. The X 250th is thus already the sixth model in the range to sell out in the shortest time, and it exactly repeats the timeframe of its direct predecessor, the RSV4 X-GP.

From Austin debut to sell-out in two weeks
The X 250th was presented on March 27, 2026 during the MotoGP round at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas. According to the manufacturer, numerous booking inquiries already came in during the US Grand Prix weekend. Only 14 days later, all 30 units had been sold. In terms of pure volume, this is a footnote for the brand, but the X models have a signalling effect. They serve Aprilia Racing as a showcase for technologies that find their way from the premier class to retail. The RSV4 X-GP was the first customer motorcycle with ground-effect aerodynamics at the time. The X 250th continues this pattern and opens another chapter with the carbon-carbon brakes.
Of the 30 machines produced, 25 are reserved for the North American market. The remaining five units are spread across the rest of the world, including Europe. Booking was handled via the in-house platform factoryworks.aprilia.com. In the US, the motorcycle was offered for 150,000 US dollars (about 131,700 euros). In Europe, the price was 115,000 euros plus VAT (about 121,000 euros net / 131,000 US dollars net).
Background on the model: Stars and Stripes and MotoGP technology
The paintwork takes up the flag of the United States and refers to the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The X 250th is not approved for use on public roads and is designed as a pure trackday motorcycle. The 1099 cc V4 engine to Superbike specification delivers 240 hp (176.5 kW) at 13,750 rpm, maximum torque is 131 Nm (96.6 lb-ft) at 11,750 rpm. The dry weight is 165 kg (363.8 lbs).

Carbon-carbon brake as a unique selling point
The core technical argument of the X 250th is the braking system. According to Aprilia, it is the first and only motorcycle in free sale worldwide that is equipped with carbon-carbon brakes. The system supplied by Brembo corresponds to the design also used in MotoGP. The deceleration values are said to correspond to the level of the RS-GP that Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin pilot in the World Championship. The carbon construction brings weight advantages over steel discs and sintered pads and, according to the manufacturer, maintains constant braking performance even under extreme load.
Fabiano Sterlacchini, Technical Director of Aprilia Racing, explained at the presentation that the special model is “extremely sophisticated and derived from the mindset of the MotoGP concept”. In addition to the brake system, the Seat Wings of the latest MotoGP development stage were also adopted for the X 250th. The aerodynamics of the street machine should thus move even closer to the prototype.
Sixth generation of the X series
With the X 250th, Aprilia Racing continues a project line that started in 2019 with the RSV4 X. It was followed by the Tuono X in 2020, the RSV4 X Trenta 2022, the RSV4 X ex3ma 2024 and most recently the RSV4 X-GP 2025. All models are created within the Factory Works programme, which aims to make MotoGP technology accessible to private riders. The series is aimed at collectors as well as ambitious trackday riders.
Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, classified the renewed sell-out as confirmation of the concept. The X models are both collector’s items and tools for riders who are looking for a riding experience very close to that of a MotoGP machine. The fact that the X 250th once again sold out only two weeks after its unveiling shows the strength and uniqueness of the series.

Media response and outlook
In addition to pure sales performance, Aprilia also points to the international attention the model has received since its presentation. The X 250th reached a high reach on social networks as well as in the specialist press and triggered many interactions. For the brand, this is as relevant an effect as the sales success itself, because the X series serves explicitly as a technology carrier and image instrument.
In terms of sport, the timing fits the brand’s current form. After the first three races of the season, Marco Bezzecchi leads the MotoGP riders’ standings, his team-mate Jorge Martin follows in second place. Aprilia is also ahead in the manufacturer and team standings. The close connection between factory machine and exclusive edition is likely to serve as a template for future X models. Which technology will next make the jump from the pit box to the market is currently open.
