- Date and location: June 26 to 28, 2026 at the Großmarkt in Hamburg
- Cancelled: the approximately 30-kilometer parade on Sunday due to the heat
- Still open: dealer mile, custom bike show, demo rides and live music, supplemented by additional heat protection measures
On the Großmarkt grounds near the harbor and Reeperbahn, the big gathering of the Harley community kicks off again on the last weekend in June. According to the organizers, the Hamburg Harley Days, with around 60,000 visitors annually on approximately 40,000 square meters, are considered Europe’s largest city biker event. Under the motto “Mehr Bike. Mehr Style. Mehr Harley!” guests can expect a program of dealer exhibitions, test rides, shows and live music. Shortly before the start, however, the weather forces a change: the emotional highlight on Sunday, the big motorcycle parade, will not take place. This puts the event in line with a 2026 summer season in which other major Hamburg events are also being slowed down by the heat.

Why Is the Parade at Hamburg Harley Days 2026 Cancelled?
The Sunday parade has been cancelled because the German Weather Service has issued a heat warning for Hamburg with temperatures of up to 38 degrees Celsius. The organizers cite the health protection of all participants as the reason.
The approximately 30-kilometer parade traditionally runs as a convoy over the Köhlbrand Bridge, through HafenCity, along the harbor and over the Reeperbahn. Under the forecast conditions, holding the event would be irresponsible according to the organizers. “The health and safety of all participants is our top priority,” says Jascha Bergmann of the organizing bergmanngruppe. Bergmann points out that not only the riders with hot engines and under their helmets would be affected, but also other road users who would be exposed to the heat along the route or in traffic jams. The organizers ask visitors for their understanding.
The cancellation is related to an unusual heat wave in northern Germany. According to media reports, the German Weather Service warned of peak values and a perceived temperature of up to 40 degrees, which is why the half marathon with 24,000 registered runners was also cancelled in Hamburg on the same weekend.
What Heat Protection Measures Are the Organizers Taking?
The festival itself will take place as planned, but with additional precautions against the heat. These include more shaded areas, additional water stations and free tap water on the grounds.
According to the organizers, the number of parasols has been doubled, additional water dispensers are being set up, and in addition to free tap water, sunscreen is available. Water hoses provide cooling on the event grounds, and in the Men-of-Mayhem Area, a pool also invites visitors to cool off. Guests are advised to ensure adequate sun protection, drink regularly, wear a head covering, show mutual consideration and adapt their stay to the weather conditions. An event hotline is available at 040 41009515 for inquiries about the event.

What Runs Despite the Parade Cancellation?
Except for the parade, the entire Hamburg Harley Days program continues. For three days, the Großmarkt offers a dealer mile, test rides, shows and live music.
The centerpiece is the Harley Village, where official dealers showcase the current models from Milwaukee as well as accessories and clothing. In the H.O.G. and Free Chapter Area, chapters from all over Europe come together, and the Welcome Party is scheduled for Friday evening. The offering is complemented by the Used Bike Market with pre-owned machines and guided tours into the Hamburg countryside. Daily stunt shows provide thrills, including world record holder DOP. In a tattoo area, more than 20 artists work in nearly 40 booths.
Custom Bike Show, Sisters Corner and Live Music on the Program
The craft focus is set by the custom bike show on Saturday, which takes place as a classic ride-in show without registration at Tor Nord (Amsinckstraße). Up to 100 custom-built machines are expected, judged by an expert jury in seven categories: Best Sportster, Best Softail, Best Watercooled, Best Touring, Best Clubstyle, Best Historic and Best of Show. Setup and registration are possible from 10 AM, the jury walkthrough begins around 2 PM, and the awards ceremony is around 5:30 PM on the main stage. A total of 2,000 euros in prize money will be awarded, 250 euros each for category winners and 500 euros for the overall winner “Best of Show.”
With the new Sisters Corner, the event puts women in the scene more in focus. The area offers space for exchange, styling and fashion, plus a raffle with a photo shoot where the main prize is a motorcycle license. Jea from USA Biker Tours, known from “Goodbye Deutschland,” and Yvonne from Pure Riders are calling for a joint ladies’ ride. The meeting point is Saturday from 10:30 AM at the Beach Elbterrassen in Övelgönne, with departure to the Sisters Corner planned for around 11:30 AM. “It’s not about brand, displacement or experience. It’s about solidarity,” reads the call from the two organizers.
Those who want to ride can test current models like the Pan America 1250 Special or the Street Glide on demo rides, provided they have a valid driver’s license. The musical program is spread across the Main Stage and the Village Stage. The top act is Ray Wilson, the former singer of Genesis. Also on the lineup are The Crossfyre, the Rockhouse Brothers, On the Trail, and the band Curran, who have previously toured with Thin Lizzy and Kiefer Sutherland. A metal choir is also announced.
