Recall

Recall NHTSA 26V478 (report received 23 July 2026): An electrical contact (terminal 15) inside the plastic housing of the ignition lock (supplier GKS, part number 51257108720) can wear out due to vibration. The resulting loose contact can disable the instrument cluster, the rear lighting including indicators and brake light, and the ABS; fuel injection and ignition may also be affected, so the engine can cut out while riding. Affected are model years 2020 to 2026 of the K67 series, plus a separately listed US version of model year 2024. 16,736 machines are covered in the USA, and BMW quotes around 7,000 for Germany. Around 300 cases are documented worldwide, about ten of them in Germany. The repair solution was still under development in early August 2026; the remedy is free of charge for owners. Germany's KBA had not published its own notice as of late July 2026.
