- Price in Germany: 8,090 euros, 820 euros more than the Classic 650 in Bruntingthorpe Blue
- 625 units worldwide, 125 of them for Europe, purchase only after prior registration
- Technology unchanged: 648 cc, 47 hp (34.6 kW), 52.3 Nm
Royal Enfield had already shown the special edition of the Classic 650 at EICMA 2025 in Milan. At the time, price, production numbers and sales channel remained open. Now it is clear how the anniversary machine will reach its buyers. The official name is a long one: 125th Anniversary Edition Hypershift Classic 650. At its heart is a paint finish that changes colour depending on the light. Underneath the paint is the familiar Classic 650. Royal Enfield was founded in 1901 and sees itself as the oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production.

How much does the Classic 650 Hypershift cost in Germany?
Royal Enfield is asking 8,090 euros (approx. 9,055 US dollars) for the Classic 650 Hypershift in Germany. Whether this price includes delivery charges, as with the standard model, is not clear from the manufacturer’s information.
For comparison: the regular Classic 650 in Bruntingthorpe Blue is listed with a recommended retail price of 7,270 euros (approx. 8,137 US dollars) including delivery. The premium for the anniversary edition is therefore around 820 euros (approx. 918 US dollars). For that, buyers get no additional power and no different chassis. The surcharge pays for the paint, decorations, seat and the small production run. As with the brand’s other models, financing is available through the dealer.
How does the Hypershift paint work?
The Hypershift paint changes its colour depending on the angle of light and viewing angle. On a brass base tone, red, green and gold shimmer through, and the paint also appears light at times and dark at others.
The brass tone recalls the brand’s first motorcycles from 1901. As the template for the colour mix, Royal Enfield cites the roughly 120 colour variants the company has used over the course of its history. The manufacturer lists the colour under the name Hypershift Red. The effect covers the tank, mudguards, side panels and headlamp housing.
On top of that come details found only on this edition. A gold-plated crest with the inscription “125 Years” sits on the side panel, and the tank bears Royal Enfield’s cannon emblem. The pinstripes are hand-painted. Instead of the usual seat, there is a single seat in brown leather with vintage-style quilted stitching. The engine, fuel cap and both silencers are finished in black, with the engine in matt black. Typical Classic design elements such as the teardrop tank and the headlamp housing are retained.

How many units are there and how does the purchase work?
Royal Enfield is building the anniversary Classic 625 times worldwide. The production run is split across five regions with 125 units each, one of which is Europe.
Anyone wanting to buy one of the machines must first register on the Royal Enfield website. Registration has been open since October 16, 2026, and a dealer is selected as part of it. Sales through dealers in Germany begin on October 29, 2026. The chosen dealer then gets in touch with the details on the purchase contract and payment. Without registration, it is not possible to take part in the sale.
The pillion seat is included in the scope of delivery. However, it is only supplied loose and is not fitted at the factory. The dealer can install it at handover. Registration and tax costs are added depending on the country.
Technology of the anniversary Classic: unchanged from the standard model
Technically, there are no changes compared with the regular Classic 650. The air- and oil-cooled parallel twin with 648 cc displacement produces 47 hp (34.6 kW) at 7,250 rpm. Maximum torque of 52.3 Nm (38.6 lb-ft) arrives at 5,650 rpm. Gear changes are handled by a six-speed gearbox, and power goes to the rear wheel via chain. With this output, the Classic 650 stays below the limit for the A2 licence straight from the factory.
The chassis consists of a tubular steel frame, a 43 mm Showa telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by a 320 mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear, each with a twin-piston caliper and dual-channel ABS. The wire-spoked wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. Seat height is 800 millimetres and the tank holds 14.8 litres. Ready to ride with a 90 per cent full tank, the Classic 650 weighs 243 kg (536 lbs).

Prices of the anniversary Classic in other markets
Price and sales channel vary by country. In France and Italy, the Classic 650 Hypershift costs 8,950 euros (approx. 10,018 US dollars), 860 euros more than in Germany. In the UK, Royal Enfield is asking 8,100 pounds (approx. 9,674 euros / 10,828 US dollars).
In the USA, the price is 8,499 US dollars (approx. 7,593 euros), which is 1,000 US dollars more than the regular Classic 650. In Canada it is 11,499 Canadian dollars (approx. 7,341 euros / 8,216 US dollars). In North America, sales take place as a one-off online event on October 26, 2026. Those who succeed there must pay at their chosen dealer within 48 hours. Otherwise the motorcycle goes to the next person on the waiting list. In its home market of India, the anniversary edition costs 4.25 lakh rupees, i.e. 425,589 rupees (approx. 4,005 euros / 4,482 US dollars).
When will the Classic 650 Hypershift be delivered?
The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026. In its terms of sale, Royal Enfield also states a delivery time of 120 to 180 days from booking.
Mathematically, a booking at the start of sales in late October means handover between late February and late April 2027. Delivery is made through the dealer selected during registration. Anyone booking at the start of sales will therefore be riding the anniversary Classic in the 2027 season. For Royal Enfield, it is another building block in the celebrations of its 125th anniversary.
