TVS RTX 300 from 4,890 euros: Italy first, Germany still open

Indian manufacturer TVS Motor Company is bringing the Apache RTX 300 to the European market. Italy goes first. The adventure tourer is due to reach dealers there from November 2026. In its home market of India, the RTX has been available since autumn 2025. For Europe, TVS has reshuffled the equipment and put together two versions aimed clearly at newcomers and touring riders. Whether and when the RTX 300 will also be offered in Germany is something TVS has not said so far.

What does the TVS RTX 300 cost in Italy?

The TVS RTX 300 costs 4,890 euros (around 5,650 US dollars) in Italy in the Essential version. For the better equipped Adventurer, TVS asks 5,290 euros (around 6,110 US dollars), so 400 euros (around 460 US dollars) more.

When TVS showed the RTX 300 to a European audience for the first time at EICMA 2025 in Milan, the talk was still of a price of 5,199 euros (around 6,005 US dollars). The entry point with the Essential is now below that, the Adventurer above it.

Compared with India, the difference is large. There the price list starts at 199,000 Indian rupees (around 1,795 euros / 2,075 US dollars), while the most expensive Built to Order version costs 239,000 rupees (around 2,155 euros / 2,490 US dollars). The European prices are said to include taxes, the cost of homologation, meaning the technical approval for each market, and further market-specific expenses.

How do Essential and Adventurer differ?

Compared with the Essential, the Adventurer mainly adds a quickshifter, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a suspension with extended adjustment options. The most important rider aids, however, are already on board the cheaper Essential.

Equipment of the Essential

The Essential is intended for everyday use and spontaneous trips. It has four riding modes, a 5-inch colour display with smartphone connectivity, cruise control, traction control, switchable ABS and full LED lighting. It is offered in the colours Lightning Black and Pearl White.

Equipment of the Adventurer

The Adventurer is aimed at riders planning longer tours. In addition to the Essential, there is a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system. On top of that come a suspension with extended adjustment options, higher-quality details, a brass-coated chain, extended connectivity functions and accessories for travelling. At launch, the Adventurer is available in Viper Green.

What is different from India

In India, cruise control, multi-stage traction control, switchable ABS and a quickshifter are only available from the top version upwards, according to the manufacturer. Adjustable suspension, tyre pressure monitoring, a brass-coated chain and the colour Viper Green are reserved there for the Built to Order configuration programme. In Europe, even the Essential has the most important rider aids. The Adventurer combines equipment features that in India are split between the top version and the Built to Order programme.

Which engine powers the TVS RTX 300?

The TVS RTX 300 uses a newly developed single-cylinder engine with 299.1 cc. It produces 36 hp (26.5 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm (21 lb-ft) at 7,000 rpm.

TVS calls the engine platform RT-XD4. The single-cylinder is liquid-cooled, has fuel injection, four valves and two overhead camshafts. The bore is 78 mm, the stroke 62.6 mm. The engine is an in-house development by TVS and has no technical relationship with BMW. It was presented as early as the beginning of 2025.

The throttle is electronically controlled (ride-by-wire). That is the basis for the riding modes and rider aids. Power goes to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox. The slipper clutch has a light action and prevents the rear wheel from hopping under rapid downshifts.

With 26.5 kW, the RTX 300 is suitable for the A2 licence. The name RTX stands for “Rally Tourer Extreme”. In India, a model of just under 300 cc already counts as a big motorcycle. In Europe, by contrast, it belongs to the class of compact adventure tourers for newcomers.

Chassis, brakes and dimensions

The chassis is put together in a more elaborate way than the price suggests. The basis is a steel trellis frame with a cast aluminium swingarm. The suspension components come from WP. At the front there is an upside-down fork with 41 mm stanchions, at the rear a single shock. Front and rear each offer 180 mm of travel. Ground clearance is 200 mm, seat height 835 mm.

The RTX 300 rolls on cast aluminium wheels with tubeless tyres. At the front there is a 19-inch wheel with a 110/80 tyre, at the rear a 17-inch wheel with 150/70. Braking is handled at the front by a 320 mm disc with a radially mounted caliper, at the rear by a 240 mm disc with a floating caliper. The dual-channel ABS comes from Bosch and can be switched off at the rear wheel.

The tank holds 12.5 litres. Ready to ride, the RTX 300 weighs 180 kg (397 lbs) according to the manufacturer. A windscreen, hand guards and a luggage rack are fitted as standard. Both hand levers are adjustable.

Which riding modes does the TVS RTX 300 have?

The TVS RTX 300 has four riding modes: Urban, Rain, Tour and Rally. Each mode tunes throttle response, traction control and ABS differently.

Urban provides a gentler throttle response and lets traction control step in early. TVS intends this mode for city traffic and the first weeks on the bike. Rain uses the same soft power delivery and additionally adapts the ABS to wet or cold road surfaces. Tour releases full power and is meant for motorways and mountain passes. Cruise control and, where fitted, the quickshifter are active here. Rally leaves the rider the most freedom. Traction control holds back, and the ABS at the rear wheel can be switched off on loose surfaces.

All settings run through the 5-inch colour display, which is said to remain easy to read even in direct sunlight. Via the SmartXonnect app, navigation maps can be mirrored from the smartphone onto the display, and music and calls can be controlled.

What is the connection between TVS and BMW?

TVS is BMW Motorrad’s production partner in India. From 2016 to 2025, TVS built the models of the G 310 range there, including the G 310 GS enduro. From 2026, the models of the F 450 line follow, first and foremost the new BMW F 450 GS. TVS models using BMW’s 450 twin are planned as well.

The RTX 300, on the other hand, is the first adventure tourer under the TVS brand itself. It is one of the new models TVS presented for Europe at EICMA 2025, joining the growing field of A2 adventure tourers with around 300 cc.

When will the TVS RTX 300 come to Germany?

A date for Germany has not been set so far. TVS has only confirmed Italy as its first European market and has given no information about further countries.

In Italy, sales begin in November 2026. The RTX 300 will be offered there through around 150 sales outlets, including dealers that carry several brands. Italy is meant to be the prelude to the European market launch. Anyone in Germany waiting for the RTX 300 is therefore dependent on further announcements from TVS for now, including on a German price.

Which accessories and which warranty are available?

TVS gives a five-year manufacturer warranty on both versions. In addition, a dedicated accessory range for travel and off-road riding is due to be available at market launch.

This includes a top case and side cases that TVS offers in cooperation with Givi, plus a tank guard, an engine guard, an extension for the windscreen, a luggage rack, hand guards and a raised front fender.

According to TVS, the RTX 300 was developed for two target groups. On the one hand for young riders with an A2 licence who want to move up to a bigger motorcycle. On the other for returning riders looking for a manageable motorcycle for everyday use and touring. An upright riding position, long suspension travel and the weight distribution are meant to give newcomers confidence without leaving experienced riders wanting.
