In 2019, the FIM introduced the MotoE class, a class for electrically powered motorcycles that race alongside MotoGP. In 2022, the contract with Italian manufacturer Energica ends and will not be renewed, according to media reports.
Since the introduction of MotoE, the Energica Ego Corsa has been used. Which motorcycles will be on the grid from 2023 is still completely open. There is even speculation about whether to move away from standardized motorcycles and open up the class to different brands. It would also be possible for prototypes to compete, as is actually the case in MotoGP.
As the number of manufacturers working on electric motorcycles grows, this would be entirely possible.
