In the year of its 100th anniversary, Ducati presented a new look for the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak on 24 September 2026. The 2027 Multistrada Pikes Peak adopts the colours and graphics of the factory bikes Ducati races in MotoGP and the World Superbike Championship. Nothing changes underneath the paint. Engine, chassis and electronics are identical to the previous version. Through the Ducati Factory Made programme, the bike can be customised right when it is ordered. The Pikes Peak thus joins the new models for the 2027 model year that Ducati is still showing during its anniversary year.
What does the new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak livery look like?
The new livery combines red and white on a black base and takes its cue from the Desmosedici GP in MotoGP and the Panigale V4 R in the World Superbike Championship. It was designed by Centro Stile Ducati together with Drudi Performance.
The most striking element is the “Ducati Corse” lettering. It runs from the steering head down to the engine. The side panels also carry a race number graphic with the number 1. According to Ducati, the colour combinations and finishes are meant to echo the look of the race bikes and convey dynamism across the whole motorcycle.
The familiar hallmarks of the Pikes Peak remain:

Technically, nothing changes on the Pikes Peak for 2027. It is still based on the 2024 model update. Back then, the Multistrada received a facelift, the latest electronics for the rider aids and the semi-active suspension from Öhlins.
The Pikes Peak has been part of the Ducati range since 2010. The V4-powered version arrived in 2021 and has remained largely unchanged since. The concept goes directly back to the original Multistrada 1200. The name recalls Ducati’s success at the Pikes Peak hill climb. Ducati describes the model as a powerful crossover motorcycle with a superbike engine. It has 17-inch wheels, a single-sided swingarm, long suspension travel and protective bodywork. Luggage can be fitted as well, so the Pikes Peak is also suited to longer trips.
Which engine powers the Pikes Peak?
The Pikes Peak is powered by the V4 Granturismo with a displacement of 1,158 cc. It produces 170 hp (125 kW) at 10,750 rpm and 123.8 Nm (91.3 lb-ft) of torque at 9,000 rpm.
According to the manufacturer, the torque curve is particularly smooth, so the power arrives without big jumps. The counter-rotating crankshaft comes from Ducati Corse’s MotoGP experience. It counteracts the gyroscopic forces of the wheels, which is meant to make the bike more agile in corners.
Unlike the Multistrada V4 RS, this engine does without desmodromic valve actuation, the positive valve control typical of Ducati. As a result, the valve clearance only needs to be checked every 60,000 kilometres. Advanced cylinder deactivation is also standard.
What does the Race riding mode offer?
The Race riding mode is exclusive to the Pikes Peak. It uses a race-style rev limiter. The limiter intervenes more gently than on the standard Multistrada V4 and signals the rev limit earlier. This allows more precise shifting at the top of the rev range.
The quickshifter has a dedicated calibration that allows particularly fast downshifts. In the High Power Mode, the engine also responds even more directly to the throttle. In total, riders can choose from four Power Modes and five Riding Modes: Race, Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet.
What suspension does the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak have?
The Pikes Peak uses the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 with 170 millimetres of travel front and rear. The system works on the same event-based principle as on the Panigale V4 S and the Streetfighter V4 S. In other words, it recognises the riding situation the bike is in and adjusts the damping automatically.
The frame is an aluminium monocoque with a tubular steel subframe and an aluminium single-sided swingarm. The chassis is specifically set up for the 17-inch front wheel.
Ducati fits forged five-spoke wheels from Marchesini. They are shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres in sizes 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR17 rear.
Braking at the front is handled by two 330-millimetre discs with radially mounted Brembo Stylema calipers. At the rear there is a 280-millimetre disc. The cornering ABS 10.3ME comes from Bosch and Brembo. The combined braking system also activates the rear brake when only the front brake is applied.
How does the riding position differ from the standard Multistrada V4?
The Pikes Peak has higher, more rearward footpegs and a lower, narrower handlebar than the standard Multistrada V4. The footpegs provide more lean angle and more freedom of movement for the rider. The handlebar also has a flatter bend. This is meant to give a more direct feel for the bike when riding sportily, without sacrificing comfort.
Which rider aids does the Pikes Peak have?
The Pikes Peak adopts the complete electronics package of the Multistrada V4 S. This includes front and rear radar. It enables adaptive cruise control (ACC), blind spot detection (BSD) and a forward collision warning.
